A47 Road Closure

Road Closure on A1064 Main Road, Fleggburgh - Carriageway Resurfacing
Norfolk County Council plans to undertake essential carriageway resurfacing works on the A1046 Main Road within Fleggburgh, from a point 50 metres south of the Tower Road junction to a point 550 metres south of the Tower Road junction. Please see site location plan showing the areas being resurfaced.
The work will see the old, damaged road surface removed and a new asphalt surface laid. The work is expected to take 4 nights to complete weather permitting and will be carried out from Wednesday 26 November 2025 to Sunday 30 November 2025 between 7pm and 5am.
To safely complete the works all roads at the junction will need to be closed to through traffic between 7pm and 5am. Vehicular access to properties within the road closure will be maintained and a signed diversion route will be in place whilst the roads are closed.
The diversion routes for the roadworks are as follows:
Closure on A1064 Main Road, Fleggburgh – from a point approximately 50 metres south of its junction with Tower Road to a point approximately 550 metres south of the same junction.
Diversion Route: Starting from the west side near Billockby, drivers will leave the A1064 Main Road and turn north onto the B1152 Main Road. The diversion continues straight along the B1152, passing through the villages of Clippesby and Rollesby. At Rollesby, the route joins the A149 High Road, heading east towards the village of Ormesby St Margaret. After passing through Ormesby St Margaret, drivers should continue on the A149 until reaching Filby Heath, where the route turns south to rejoin the A1064 Main Road. This completes the diversion loop around the closed section of road between Fleggburgh and Filby.
The County Council would like to thank people for their patience while these works are carried out.
The work which will cost approximately £120,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Infrastructure Department and their contractors.

AT ST MARGARET'S CHURCH BURIAL GROUND OPPOSITE THE KING'S ARMS FLEGGBURGH ON VILLAGE HALL SIDE OF MAIN ROAD A1064
This burial ground is at the heart of our village and is a wonderful peaceful space. Surrounded by mature trees which uplift our environment.
In the last few months Fleggburgh Parish Council has arranged for volunteers to tidy up the Burial Ground . The impact has already been enormous and our aim is to ensure that all visitors to the Burial Ground have as easy access as possible to the Burial Ground.
The next tidy up session is Saturday 1 November starting at 9am
If you can come along and lend a helping hand that would be much appreciated.
Furthermore if you can bring any gardening equipment such as a petrol strimmer, a saw, secateurs., wood lopper that would be much appreciated . Never mind if you don't have access to any of these tools ; just come along for whatever time you can spare.
We do recommend gloves and sturdy footwear.
On Saturday we aim to address two areas which require scrub and branch removal

Thank you to all our volunteers
A Huge Thank You from Fleggburgh Parish Council!
We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the amazing volunteers who came along on Saturday to help clear the burial ground. Your hard work, enthusiasm, and community spirit made the day a huge success, and the difference you’ve made is already clear to see!
We’re delighted with what we achieved together and would love to keep the momentum going. From now on, we’ll be making this a regular event, taking place on the first Saturday of every month.
If you weren’t able to join us this time, we’d love to see you next month! Everyone is welcome — whether you can spare an hour or the whole morning, every pair of hands makes a difference.
Thank you once again to everyone who helped make Saturday so special. Together, we’re keeping Fleggburgh looking its best!

FPC has appointed 3 Footpath Wardens.
A few weeks ago we asked for volunteers to come forward to act as Footpath Wardens. We are delighted to report that three volunteers got in touch with us and are now working with us to keep the footpaths safe and accessible.
In addition some footpath users alerted us to particular issues when using the footpaths and we are endeavouring to address these.
A BIG ,BIG THANK YOU to everybody involved. It's great to know that so many parishioners are using the footpath network.
Feel free to contact us if you have any points to raise . Just email fleggburghpc@gmail.com

Volunteers Needed – Help Keep Our Churchyard Beautiful
A message from Councillor David Flowerdew
Hi everyone,
We’re looking for a few kind-hearted volunteers who’d be willing to help keep the disused churchyard in Burgh St Margaret neat and tidy. Although it’s no longer in use, it remains an important part of our village’s history and a peaceful green space that deserves a little care.
If you’d be happy to lend a hand now and then – whether it’s mowing, strimming, litter picking, or general upkeep – we’d love to hear from you. Many hands make light work!
Please comment below or send me a message by email cllrflowerdewfpc@gmail.com if you’re interested. Let’s come together to keep this special place looking its best
